This has become increasingly sophisticated; modern biotechnology allows drugs targeted towards specific physiological processes to be developed, sometimes designed for compatibility with the body to reduce side-effects. Genomics and knowledge of human genetics is having some influence on medicine, as the causative genes of most monogenic genetic disorders have now been identified, and the development of techniques in molecular biology and genetics are influencing medical technology, practice and decision-making.

Sahachiro Hata discovered the anti-syphilitic activity of this compound in 1908 in the laboratory of Paul Ehrlich, during a survey of hundreds of newly synthesized organic arsenical compounds. Ehrlich had theorized that by screening many compounds a drug could be discovered with anti-microbial activity. Ehrlich's team began their search for such a "magic bullet" among chemical derivatives of the dangerously toxic drug atoxyl. This was the first organized team effort to optimize the biological activity of a lead compound through systematic chemical modifications, the basis for nearly all modern pharmaceutical research.
Arsphenamine was marketed under the trade name Salvarsan in 1910. It was also called 606, because it was the 606th compound synthesized for testing [In Germany it was the practice to designate compounds by their development number. Another compound known commonly in Germany by its number is Parathion, which was the 605th compound to be developed in search for insecticide. It is commonly known as E605 (E stands for Entwicklungsnummer (German for "development number")]. Salvarsan was the first organic anti-syphillitic, and a great improvement over the inorganic mercury compounds that had been used previously. A more soluble (but slightly less effective) arsenical compound, Neosalvarsan, (neoarsphenamine), became available in 1912. These arsenical compounds came with considerable risk of side effects, and they were supplanted as treatments for syphilis in the 1940s by penicillin.

I honestly don't remember how I found your band/site, but I downloaded a buttload of songs and of all the ones I've listened to so far, I favor gumBasso-Cellicho the absolute most. The first 21 seconds started perfectly with the looping cello and the JFK speech is complimenting in giving the song its own 'feel'.
I personally am more interested in hardcore heavy metal music than any other style, so I was listening to this song wondering how it could be converted into a hardcore metal song. It might take some figuring out (on my part), but it has potential, well, at least the first 21 seconds does, anyway.
Thanks for making the song freely available online for the masses to hear and thanks for this forum so we can share our opinions about you.

Debo decir que este proyecto (Mastica) me resulta extremadamente muy novedor, y muy agradable. Ya que soy un gran fan de CGT, KC, etc....Por cierto, ayer 27 de Febrero vi en directo el concierto de CGT, y fue INCREIBLE, todo un regala para los sentidos.
Me gustaria saber si Mastica pasaran por Espaa (Barcelona o otras ciudades), porque hay mucha gente interesada por este proyecto...

Hi, I am starting an online station broadcasting local bands. Mainly from the Dallas area. But I am really not limiting it to the dallas area only. I heard you a few years ago at a show with the Spoonfed Tribe at the Gypsy Tea room. Really like your sound. I would like to put some of your songs on the play list. The only CD I have is from your Debut CD. I wil have to check out Mastic Attack. I hope you will let me play some of your songs. I have only begun collecting music to put online and I only have The Spoonfed Tribe and Woodbelly up there now, along with a bunch of fill music.

It's great that the site is up again. Today I put "'99" in my player, then decided to check the site - and it was up and running! Great! I checked the "Sacrificador" track and found it really nice, although it is clear why it was not included in the album.
